First time waxing? Here's what to know before your appointment: areas, what to expect, and how to prep.
More and more men are adding waxing to their self-care routine, and it's normal to have questions if it's your first time. Here's the full rundown, no fluff.
Reasons vary: sports (swimmers, cyclists), aesthetics, gym comfort, or just personal preference. There's no single "right" reason, it's a personal care decision like any other.
The most popular. It's hard to manage on your own, and wax gives even results that last for weeks, unlike shaving.
Whether full or shaped (leaving certain areas), this is one of the fastest sessions with the best time-to-result ratio.
Less common, but increasingly requested, especially by swimmers and cyclists.
Requires more care and a specialist with specific experience in this area. It's completely normal and increasingly requested.
Men's eyebrow waxing isn't about "thinning out" but about cleaning up and defining, keeping a natural, masculine shape.
A quick consultation. The specialist checks your hair type and skin before starting, and explains the process if it's your first time.
Hair needs to be the right length. At least 0.5 cm / a quarter inch. If you shaved recently, it's probably not ready yet.
Discomfort, not unbearable pain. There's some sensitivity, more noticeable the first session, but it decreases with each visit as the follicle weakens.
Results that last 3 to 5 weeks, depending on the area and your natural growth cycle.
Don't shave in the days before; let hair reach the right length.
Exfoliate 1-2 days before your appointment (not the same day).
Avoid caffeine or alcohol right before your session if you have sensitive skin, they can temporarily increase sensitivity.
Wear loose clothing to your appointment, especially if you're getting the intimate area or legs done.
Avoid direct sun and very hot water for the first 24 hours.
Moisturize with a lightweight, fragrance-free product.
Start exfoliating on day two or three to help prevent ingrown hairs.
Wear loose clothing while skin settles.
If you're looking for a longer-lasting alternative to shaving and you're willing to commit to a session every 3-5 weeks, yes. Most of our male clients come back after their first time precisely because they notice the difference in how long it lasts and daily comfort.
